Requirements for any application

Institutions must register and provide the name of one operational contact in order to propose candidates for Post-Doctoral grants or PhD grants, to submit a Chair application or to submit a project proposal.

Application requirements

Only research institutions may submit applications. No individual applications will be considered (except for Call for Projects applications). Once an institution is registered this is permanent, there is no need to make a new registration request from the same institution.

  • Registration of the institution by the operational contact of the university (appointed by the legal representative)
  • Internal pre-selection of applications by the research institution itself: collection of requests from the various doctoral schools and research units, before pre-selecting the definitive candidates expected to apply for our funding
  • Please note that no institution’s registration will be accepted within 3 days of the deadline of a campaign.

How to propose candidates (for Doctoral and Post-doctoral Fellowships)

The number of annual applications that may be submitted by a single university is restricted to:

  • 2 for Doctoral Fellowships
  • 2 for Post-Doctoral Fellowships

  • Only institutions that are registered with the Fund may propose candidates. No individual student applications will be accepted or reviewed. Please liaise with your institution to check if it is registered.
  • Please note that although a candidate may be presented by the same institution, each candidate cannot submit the same proposal several times.  An applicant can be presented by only one institution.

  • Applications must be submitted by the research institutions to which the host laboratory is attached and where the work is to be carried out.
  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The institution must be able to host and accommodate the applicant for funding in accordance with prevailing legislation in the country where the institution is located.[1] This institution must be the same as that presenting the Doctoral or Post-Doctoral candidate.

After pre-selecting applicant(s) for one of the annual calls for candidates, the institution must fill in the names and email addresses of the candidates on the application website, via its operational contact person, who has the necessary username and password of the institution.

Once the candidate(s) is (are) validated by the operational contact, an email is sent directly to the candidate(s) with all the necessary details for accessing the application form (URL, username and password).
