Post-Doctoral Fellowships
- The Post-Doctoral funding is granted for a period of two years.
- An applicant can be presented by only one institution. Although a candidate may be presented twice (over different campaigns) by the same institution, each candidate cannot submit the same proposal several times.
In 2012, two calls for applicants will be
made to accommodate differences in the academic calendar in Europe:
Closings: at noon (french time).
Candidates are allowed to fill in their application as soon as their institution has submitted it.
Process:
1.
First Round Application: The operational contact fill in the form about the fields the institution wants to propose candidates in and why, on the AXA Research Fund’s application website.
2. Second Round Application:
a. Pre-selection
of candidates by the institution: The operational contact
submits the names and emails of the pre-selected candidates on the AXA Research Fund’s application website.
b. The candidates receive an email from the AXA
Research Fund, providing them with
an access and a password to fill in their on-line application, on the AXA Research Fund’s application website.

Review
of application by international referees
Selection criteria:
- Academic excellence of the
candidate
- Innovative approach and originality
of the project
- Institution’s relationship with the
international community
- Feasibility of the project and
impact of its potential results
- International mobility (valued but not required)
- Application should be submitted within the 5 years following the Ph.D/Thesis (valued but not required)
4. The Scientific Board selects the final applications

Communication of results:
- The Fund announces the projects
selected for funding on the publication of results page
- The Fund contacts the selected
applicants and the operational contact to start the contracting process with the
institution
