Grants policy - Funding principles

The AXA Research Fund, for ethical reasons, does not fund research in any of the following areas:

  • Research violating national regulations
  • Research having direct military use
  • Research having potentially dangerous environmental impact, research relying on the artificial production of highly infectious pathogens with potential large scale harmful/lethal effects for humans
  • Biomedical research led without the informed consent of the donors
  • Research on embryonic stem cells
  • Research processing private personal data without the informed consent of the concerned parties (incl. genetic information)
  • Research activities aiming at human cloning

Pierre-André Chiappori quoted AXA Research Fund as a model of corporate funding of research

Pierre-André Chiappori, Professor of Economics at Columbia University, just published a study about the funding of research. He was interviewed on BFM radio to briefly present its results and quoted Henri de Castries and the AXA Research Fund as a model of corporate funding of research.
