Talent Day - Socio-economic risks - First Edition

The first edition of the Talent Day on Decision Science occurred in Paris on June 28th-29th, 2010. It was a great opportunity for our AXA grantees to meet top young researchers financed by AXA and working on topics touching Decision Making.
The École Polytechnique and the AXA Research Fund linked up to create a permanent Chair for Cardiovascular Cellular Engineering (CCE) endowed with 3 millions euros and officially launched on June 14th 2010. This chair will be held by Professor Abdul Barakat, researcher at the Polytechnique's Hydrodynamics Laboratory (LadHyX), former Professor at the University of California, Davis.
AXA - Académie des Sciences 2010 award

Six young biologists were selected and invited by the french Académie des Sciences to present their research work. They received the "AXA - Académie des Sciences award" and were granted with € 2.000.

The AXA Research Fund, in collaboration with the Paris Descartes University, inaugurated the AXA-Paris Descartes Chair in "A systems approach to individual differences in longevity".
Granted projects

Pierre-André Chiappori quoted AXA Research Fund as a model of corporate funding of research
Pierre-André Chiappori, Professor of Economics at Columbia University, just published a study about the funding of research. He was interviewed on BFM radio to briefly present its results and quoted Henri de Castries and the AXA Research Fund as a model of corporate funding of research.
