Grants
In supporting the innovative skills of PhD and post-doctoral students, we give strength to their talent.
Every year, the AXA Research Fund awards grants to post-doctoral and PhD students, as well as "CIFRE" grants for PhD students on placements within industry.
Post-doctoral grants : application is open from June 2nd to July 1st
The AXA Research Fund awards 30 post-doctoral grants annually. These grants last 12 months and may exceptionally be renewed. For more information about the eligibility criteria, please consult the Guide for Applicants.
Applications are to be made by the research institutions to which the young doctors' host laboratories are linked. No personal appeals from doctors shall be accepted. Applications are examined by a committee of experts.
Selection criteria:

The candidate's academic excellence

The pertinence and ambition of the post-doctoral topic

The international scope of the host research laboratory.
PhD grants : Application is open from May 15th
The AXA Research Fund awards 30 PhD grants annually.
Funding of post-doctoral studies lasts for three years, and must be renewed each year (institutions agree to communicate an annual progress report to the AXA Research Fund to ensure disbursement from one year to another).

Applications must be made by the institutions that are to host the PhD students. No personal appeals from Master students shall be accepted. Applications are examined by a committee of experts.
Selection criteria:
- The candidate's academic excellence, judged on the high standard of his or her Master's results and the quality of previous course work.
- The originality of the thesis project, its feasibility (access to resources, etc.), and the impact of its potential results.
- The international scope of the host research laboratory
AXA's "CIFRE" grants
The AXA Research Fund awards about ten "CIFRE" grants annually. They are aimed at students who have obtained a Master's degree and wish to do a Ph.D. within AXA, splitting their time between the firm and their research laboratory.
