101 research projects funded, 14 countries, 20 million euros...
This summer of 2009, we are delighted to see that our adventure has gained ground and that the AXA Research Fund now significantly contributes to financing top-level research in Europe.
The researchers welcomed into our community bring our "through research protection" motto to life. Our ambition is in fact to fund research work to help us better understand and prevent the risks that impact the environment, human life and our societies. This is how we will succeed in strengthening the link between scientific progress and social progress.
We are able to undertake this exciting challenge thanks to the efforts and expertise of our Scientific Council, our many reviewers and the Fund's operational team. I warmly thank them all for helping us, each day, to direct our funding toward the strongest, most ambitious projects.
